Social posts

Take an ordinary photo or a short clip and turn it into a graphic ready for social media - no design software needed. The module walks you through the background, the format and the style, and AI can write the on-graphic text for you. The finished post lands in your Asset Library and you can download it as an image or a video.

What it's for#

• Who it's for: people running the company's social profiles who want a consistent post quickly, without working in a design tool.
• Use it when: you have a photo or a short clip and want to turn it into a post for a specific platform (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and more).
• If you want a graphic for email, a blog post or a link preview, use the Banner module instead. Social posts are built for social media.

Before you start#

• Permissions: a role that can use services (member and up).
• Module enabled: "Social posts" must be active for your company. If it's not in the menu, ask for it with the Request a module button on the dashboard or via Report in the top bar.
• Background: have a photo ready (your own or from the Asset Library) or a short clip of up to 30 seconds - the post will then move. You don't need a background at all if the style is based on a solid colour.

How to make a post#

1. Open Social posts from your company menu.
2. Pick a background. Take a photo from the company library, upload your own (straight from your phone if you like), or use a short clip of up to 30 seconds.
3. Choose the format and set the crop. Formats are ready-made for each platform - no need to know pixel sizes. You can zoom, move and rotate the picture, add a filter to the background and set it gently in motion.
4. Apply a style. Styles suit your industry and come recoloured to your company's colours. Until you pick one, the post cannot be saved or downloaded.
5. Fine-tune the text and elements. Rewrite the wording on the graphic, add your logo and extra elements. The preview updates instantly and every change can be undone.
6. (Optional) Ask AI for the copy. Describe in one sentence what the post is about - AI fills in the wording on the graphic and separately drafts a caption with hashtags, one per platform, ready to copy.
7. Preview and save. See how the post looks placed on the chosen platform. Saving puts the graphic in your Asset Library and counts towards your monthly limit. You can also download the file without saving.

Splitting AI posts into layers#

A post generated in “AI posts” is a single image - its texts are drawn into the pixels. After clicking “Edit”, the editor shows a “Split into layers” button above the canvas:

• texts and the logo become separate layers that look exactly like the original - move, scale, delete and reorder them,
• the product (or person) is placed in the foreground, so a text can sit behind it,
• “Turn into editable text” on a selected text rebuilds it in the closest editor typeface - then you can change the words, colour and size (the typeface may differ slightly from the original),
• “Restore original” brings back the generated image.

Splitting usually takes 30-90 seconds and does not use your limit. If a post cannot be split accurately, it stays a single image - you can try again.

Accent, icons, shapes and logo#

In the layer editor you can do what you see in your company styles - without drawing from scratch:

• Accent on a word. Select a word in a layer's text field and click “Accent” - the word gets a different colour (the first time we take the accent from the company palette, and you can change it afterwards in the “Accent colour” field). In the text field the word shows up between asterisks, e.g. The night is **ours** - the asterisks are not drawn on the canvas. Clicking the same word again takes the accent off, and “Remove accent” clears it from the whole layer (colour and asterisks).
• Icon. You insert icons from the “Icons” tab in the elements panel (search by name - see below). Company styles can come with icons already (shield, lightning bolt, battery, padlock, crosshair and more) - change the colour of the selected icon in the properties panel, in the “Icon color” field, and insert a different symbol from the library in its place. Size and position work like for any other layer.
• Skewed and cut shapes. With a rectangle selected, the “Skew” slider tilts it (like a block with a slanted edge), and “Cut corners” lets you choose which corners are cut off (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right) and by how much.
• Company logo. Styles that have a place for it (bands, footers, badges) insert the logo on their own - we take it from the company settings, so you don't have to upload it for every post. Styles generated while the company had no logo yet carry its name there as plain text (you can edit it like any other text) - only styles generated again after the logo is added get a place for it.

Fields and options#

Working on the canvas#

• Smart guides. An element you drag snaps to the centre and edges of the frame, the safe margins, and the edges and centres of other elements. A solid line means aligned with the frame, a dashed one - aligned with another element. Pink segments with a pixel value show equal spacing, for example an element exactly halfway between two others. The lines and the safe-margin frame appear only while you drag; otherwise the canvas stays clean and an element's outline shows when you hover over it. The grid button above the canvas turns these lines off and on.
• No snapping: hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) or Alt while dragging. Shift while dragging keeps the element on one axis only.
• Distances: select an element, hold Alt and hover another element (or the empty background) to see the distances in pixels.
• Arrow keys move the selection by 1 px, by 10 px with Shift. While resizing, the width and height in pixels appear next to the corner.
• Group: select several elements (Shift + click or a box dragged on the background) and click Group above the selection, or press Ctrl/Cmd + G. A group moves and scales as one element - scaling from a corner also grows its text and outlines. Ready-made elements built from several parts (badges, buttons, ornaments) land on the post as a group straight away.
• Element inside a group: click the group a second time, or double-click it, to pick one of its elements. You can move and edit it without ungrouping, and Remove from group takes out just that element.
• Ungroup: select the group and click Ungroup, or press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + G. The elements stay exactly where they were.
• The Layers panel shows a group as one row that you can expand with its arrow. Dragging a group row moves the whole block in the layer order; dragging an element out of the group takes it out of the group.
• Rulers and guides: Shift + R (or the ruler button in the bar above the canvas) shows rulers marked in format pixels. Drag from the top ruler to add a horizontal guide, from the left one for a vertical guide. Move a guide by dragging it or with the arrow keys (1 px, 10 px with Shift), and remove it with Delete or by dragging it back onto the ruler. Elements snap to guides, and the guide an element sits on lights up and shows its position on the ruler.
• Guide layouts: the menu next to the ruler button offers 3 columns, 12 columns, a 3×3 grid or Custom (columns, rows, gutter and margin in pixels). A layout replaces the current guides and is added locked so you don't move it by accident - unlock it in the same menu, where you can also clear all guides. Guides show only in the editor (they never reach the downloaded graphic or video) and are saved with the post.
• Photo frames: select a photo or logo and pick a shape under Photo frame: circle, arch, hexagon, diamond, star, heart or blob. The photo fills the frame, and Flip horizontally/vertically flips only the photo, not the frame. No frame goes back to a rectangle.
• Shapes: select a shape and change it under Shape type to a rectangle, ellipse, star (with a number of points), polygon (with a number of sides), arrow or speech bubble (tail on the left, centre or right). Ready-made stars, arrows, a speech bubble and a starburst are also in the elements (Blocks, Badges). Point an arrow another way by rotating it.
• Lines with an arrowhead or dot: select a line and pick an arrowhead or a dot for the Line start and Line end. Ready-made arrow lines are in the Lines elements.
• Gradient: turn on Gradient on a shape or text - it starts from the fill (or text) colour, and you choose the second colour, the direction and the type (Linear or Radial) below the switch. The gradient follows your brand colours.
• Curved text: in the text effects, move the Curve slider - right bends the text into an arch, left into a bowl. It works for single-line text without a background bar; text with a bar or on several lines stays straight.
• Check design: the button in the bar above the canvas reviews the graphic as it will be saved and lists issues, most important first: text too small, text with too little contrast against the background (measured from the brightness of the photo under the text, including the filter and darkening), overlapping text, text going off the frame, or a layer dimming the text. The number on the button refreshes by itself a moment after every change. Clicking an issue selects the element on the canvas. With a video background we don't measure the background brightness - judge the contrast of text sitting directly on the video in the preview.
• Write with AI (WebImpact post editor): select a text and click Write with AI on the formatting bar. Choose Rewrite, Shorten or 3 headline variants. AI writes in the language of the selected text, keeps names, numbers and prices exactly as in the original and adds no new ones. Pick one variant in the window and click Insert - one Undo (Ctrl/Cmd + Z) brings the previous text back. Text rewrites do not use your limit.
• Remove background (WebImpact post editor): select an image placed on the post and click Remove background in Properties. The subject stays, the background becomes transparent, and one Undo restores the original. Each background removal uses 1 generation from your monthly Social posts limit; if it fails, the limit is returned.
• Align and space evenly: the Position panel in the selection's properties has six alignment buttons (left, centre, right, top, middle, bottom). One element aligns to the page, several align to their shared selection box. With three or more elements, Space evenly horizontally or vertically makes the gaps equal and keeps the outermost elements in place. A group counts as one element, and locked elements don't move.
• Bring to front and send to back: the Position panel and the Layers panel move the selection one layer up or down, or straight to the front or back. Shortcuts: Ctrl/Cmd + ] (forward), Ctrl/Cmd + [ (backward), add Shift for front and back.
• Copy style: select an element, click Copy style (the paintbrush) and click an element of the same kind - it gets the font, size, colour, outline, shadow and opacity, while its text and position stay. Esc cancels. With the keyboard: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + C copies the style, Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + V pastes it onto the selection.
• Keyboard shortcuts: the ? key or the keyboard button in the bar above the canvas lists every editor shortcut, including Ctrl/Cmd + Z (undo) and Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z (redo).
• Colors in this project: the color picker shows, above the brand palette, the colors already used in this post - most frequent first. Clicking a swatch applies that color without eyeballing a HEX code.
• Eyedropper: in browsers that support it (Chrome, Edge) an eyedropper icon appears next to the HEX field - it picks up a color from anywhere on your screen, not just the canvas.
• Shuffle colors: the button in the right-hand panel swaps the brand's main color with its accent across the design (text, shapes, gradients and icons); a second click returns to the start. Light and dark stay in place so text on the photo stays readable, and overlays and locked layers are left unchanged. It works when the palette has 4 different colors.
• Icons: the "Icons" tab in the elements panel has a search-by-name box and over 170 ready-made icons (arrows, stars, contact, delivery, time and more). An inserted icon is a normal layer - change its color, size and position like any element.

Limits and notes#

• Video background: up to 30 seconds. The finished post then moves and you can also download it as a video.
• Style is required: you can't save or download a post until a style is applied.
• Monthly limit: each saved post counts against your company's monthly limit. Usage is shown on the limit bar in the module header. Downloading a file without saving still runs the module, but saving is what puts the post in the library for the team.
• Teamwork: saved posts are shared with the whole team - anyone can reopen and edit them, even from another computer. From a finished post you can take just the photo or just the style, and you can save your own layout as a company style to speed up the next one.
